Videospin is a basic, functional video and sound editing tool that is fairly easy to use. It gives users the ability to edit and produce videos in a number of popular formats without the need for extensive experience or technological literacy. It is not a sophisticated or powerful tool that professional editors use, but it is advanced enough to satisfy the needs of the average user.

It is a freeware program, but some functionality is limited after the trial period expires. This includes not being able to produce videos in MP2, MP4 or Dolby sound quality unless an upgrade is purchased. The installation file is just a little over 160MB, and it does not require a lot of computing power to run effectively.

The interface is pretty easy to interpret and work with, and tracks can be edited below a live preview window. This gives users the ability to see their work in progress and make modifications on the spot. The menus are organized, and the software comes with a basic manual and troubleshooting section that provides support and answers to commonly asked questions.

This program provides more features than what is offered by Windows Movie Maker, but it doesn't come close to what you can get from more-advanced software from companies like Adobe, Corel or Techsmith. I don't need a lot of professional quality effects or multi-track editing capabilities for most of my projects, so Videospin is not a bad tool to use from time to time. However, the fact that I need to register to produce videos in MP4 format is annoying.

This is ideal for beginners or those who want a tool that is simple and easy to work with. The price of the full version is not too expensive, but I think that money could be better spent elsewhere. Downloading and installing the trial version was painless, and I didn't experience any glitches or problems opening and configuring the program for the first time.
